Applying the Revised Canadian Community Health Nursing Standards to Practice

An interactive pre-conference workshop to  support community health nurses from public health, home care, primary care, education, research, and other community settings to apply the revised Canadian Community Health Nursing Standards of Practice to their everyday work. Participants will explore practical strategies and share real-world examples to integrate the Standards into individual practice, team processes, and organizational policies, strengthening consistent, high-quality community health nursing practice across settings.

Advocacy with Intention: Leadership Skills to Advance Health Equity

An interactive pre-conference workshop designed for community health nurses at all levels of practice. Participants will strengthen their leadership capacity and learn practical advocacy strategies to intentionally influence policies addressing the social determinants of health, promote fairer systems, and advance health equity for marginalized or equity-deserving populations.

Introduction to Place-Based Planetary Health Nursing

A one day, in-person, experiential workshop for nurses and nursing students responding to climate and ecological health challenges. Grounded in the Planetary Health Educational Framework, the workshop explores interconnection with nature, the Anthropocene and health, equity and social justice, systems thinking, and movement building. Participants engage in land-based, reflective, and participatory learning, including positionality mapping, environmental justice case studies, and systems mapping. The workshop strengthens professional self-efficacy, leadership, and practical skills for planetary health action across individual, community, organizational, and policy levels. Participants leave grounded, inspired, and equipped to act where they live, work, and care.
