Call for Abstracts

Abstracts are invited for the Community Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) conference in May 20-22, 2026. This conference aims to deepen our shared commitment to equity, action, and transformation in the face of pressing health and social challenges in Canada. 

We welcome abstract submissions from all classes of registered or licensed nurses and interprofessional collaborators working in practice, administration, education, research, or policy that explore a range of topics including (but not limited to):

• Advancing community nursing practice that addresses health inequities for all people, and engages communities in response to evolving social and structural determinants of health
• Fostering cultural safety in partnership with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples through critical allyship and Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing
• Exploring the opportunities, risks, and ethical considerations of using artificial intelligence in community health nursing practice, education, and research
• Promoting planetary health and addressing the environmental impacts on health
• Strengthening community nursing leadership and actions in all areas such as primary prevention, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and mental health
• Highlighting the collaborative contributions of Licensed/Registered Practical Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses in community health
